RECAP SO FAR:
Well, we've written out some introductory scenes for Louie, the main character, establishing his job and something of his background. We've also established a few characters, like his editor Skjaldi and his best friend Constantine.
We've also invented a villain (well, nearly anyway) in the shape of an exploitative real estate developer / billionaire exploiting non-humanoid monsters for cheap labor.
————
PROJECT FOR THE DAY:
- Expand and refine the act-by-act breakdown, maybe start mapping out necessary scenes.
- Write a few scenes, explore a few characters, figure out the world a bit more.

RECAP SO FAR:
Yesterday we got through a couple of establishing scenes, rewrote and re-edited the intro, and started writing a detailed summary of the plot as I envision it.

PROJECT FOR THE DAY:
Finishing up the summary, creating and fleshing out a villain / antagonist.
Start on some more connective tissue between introductions and the meat of the story.
REMEMBER THE "THEREFORE OR BUT" STRUCTURE

RECAP SO FAR:
We've got an opening scene draft, a sort of tone-piece for the thing - not sure if it's going in the final draft.
We've got a secondary opening scene introducing the nominal protagonist, which is probably poorly written (most things i write are at first) but which we'll pick at and edit a bit today maybe.
MOSTLY though, we're gonna write more things, new things, try to develop some scenes and get the plot in motion maybe.
————
PROJECT FOR THE DAY: Just get some more stuff on the page, explore some scenes, develop a plot thread or some characters.

QUESTIONS TO ANSWER:
- Does the world need a reason for existing?
- What is our villain?
- Who are our protagonists?

PLOT: Someone hires a monster for a menial task, to be used as a patsy, or perhaps to facilitate some kind of money laundering or crime. Like an orc gets hired for accountancy. But because the temp agency are actually good at picking the right person for the job, the orc figures out what's going on, and dies for it. INCITING INCIDENT.
PROBLEM OUR PROTAGONIST IS TACKLING: Monsters used as a disposable cheap underclass of workers, mistreated and discarded. Temp agency becomes a way to allow monsters, who have skills and value and worth, to find decent work and maybe permanent employment.
